Whatsapp Announces The Addition Of Hd Photo Capabilities And The’soon’ Arrival Of Hd Video.

According to a statement made by CEO of Meta Mark Zuckerberg on his Instagram broadcast channel and through a Facebook post, WhatsApp is getting an update that will enable users to exchange HD photographs over the messaging service. Previously, a beta test of the function with a small group of customers allowed users to maintain the high-definition resolution of the pictures they shared with friends and family. Users first saw the feature in the WhatsApp Android beta and the iOS TestFlight app earlier this summer, indicating a public launch was soon to happen.

You must upgrade your app to the most recent version before using the new functionality. At the top of the photo-sharing screen, next to the other image editing options like rotate and those for adding text and stickers to the picture, you’ll see a new “HD” button after completing this.

A new pop-up that lets you choose the photo quality will show when you hit the HD option. Standard Quality is the default choice. According to WhatsApp, this decision was made to ensure that exchanging photographs stays quick and dependable. However, you may now choose to verify HD quality in order to save the high-definition version of the image.

The recipient will see the photo once you’ve sent it, and an HD label will have appeared in the bottom-left corner, notifying them that you’ve sent a higher-quality image. Thanks to WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption, all images remain secure.

According to the company, you can decide on a photo-by-photo basis whether to preserve the normal version or enhance it to HD if you receive a photo when your connectivity is low.

According to the corporation, support for HD movies will be added after the HD photographs functionality is made available to consumers worldwide over the coming few weeks.
